Jim Herman, who started the day four shots behind the overnight leader, rallied to win the Wyndham Championship and a spot in the upcoming FedExCup Playoffs.

Herman fired a career-61 on Saturday and followed it up with a final round 7-under 63 en route to a 21-under 259 victory total, one clear of fellow Titleist Pro V1 golf ball loyalist Billy Horschel. Herman vaulted from 192nd to 54th in the final week in the race for the 125 playoff spots. It marked the 42-year old’s third career PGA TOUR title in four years.

Titleist was the top choice in seven of the eight major equipment categories, including golf balls (123/79%), drivers (46/30%), hybrids (27/42%), utility irons (42/48%), irons (49/31%), wedges (261/59%) and putters (57/37%).

Herman’s win is the 23rd for Titleist golf ball players this season, nearly four times the nearest competitor with six. Herman topped a leaderboard that included 11 of the 13 players who finished among the top 10 and ties. Titleist Brand Ambassador Webb Simpson (Pro V1, TS3 driver, TS2 and 913Fd fairway metals, 915Hd and 913Hd hybrids, 620 MB irons, Vokey Design wedges) and Kevin Kisner (Pro V1) were among four players tied for 3rd, followed by Zach Johnson (Pro V1x) and Harold Varner III (Pro V1x), who tied for 7th.

Sungjae Im (Pro V1x, TS3 driver, TS2 fairway metal, 818 H2 hybrid, T100 irons, Vokey Design wedges, Scotty Cameron T6 STR putter), Russell Henley (Pro V1x, TS4 driver, TS3 fairway metal, 818H2 hybrid, T100 irons, Vokey Design SM8 wedges, Scotty Cameron SSS prototype putter), Denny McCarthy (Pro V1, TS2 driver, TS2 fairway metals, TS2 hybrid, U500, T100/620 CB irons, Vokey Design SM8 wedges, Scotty Cameron F5 putter) and a Pro V1 loyalist (no agreement) tied for 9th.

EUROPEAN

Sam Horsfield (Pro V1x) made European Tour history by winning his second title in three weeks, this time at the weather-delayed Celtic Classic. He captured the Hero Open two weeks ago, which was followed by a missed cut and another win, becoming the first player to achieve that feat.

The 23-year-old started the day one shot behind overnight leader Connor Syme (Pro V1), and fired a bogey-free final round 67 en route to an 18-under 266 victory total, two shots clear of his nearest competitor. Syme and Titleist Brand Ambassador Andrew ‘Beef’ Johnston (Pro V1) were among three players who tied for 3rd place, another shot back.

Horsfield moves to the top of the UK Swing Order of Merit, securing his spot in the U.S. Open.

"It was pretty crazy," Horsfield said. "My goal this weekend was to have no bogeys and I was able to do that. I made a huge putt on 17 to keep that alive and I just played solid all week, really. To have a nice cushion coming into the last was nice … I never really felt nervous or felt uncomfortable, maybe because I was in this situation a few weeks ago."

Titleist was the overwhelming top choice in golf balls with 92 (70%), more than four times the nearest competitor with 22.

KORN FERRY

Stephan Jaeger (Pro V1) closed with a 3-under 68 en route to a 22-under 262 victory total at the Albertsons Boise Open. It was the fifth career Korn Ferry Tour title for Jaeger, who finished two shots clear of Dan McCarthy (Pro V1x) and Brandon Wu (Pro V1, TS3 driver, TS2 fairway metal, U500 2-iron, T100 irons, Vokey Design SM8 wedges, Scotty Cameron 009 putter).

Jaegar topped a leaderboard that included nine Titleist golf ball players among the top 10 finishers.

Fast Fact: Titleist golf ball players have accounted for 11 wins through the first 16 events this season, nearly three times the nearest competitor with 4.

Titleist was the field favorite in six of the eight major equipment categories, including golf balls (96/67%), drivers (37/26%), hybrids (19/35%), utility irons (35/39%), irons (42/29%) and wedges (200/48%).
