Maiden Victories for Homa, Shelton and Rowher Cap 7-Win Week for Titleist Players

The momentum keeps rolling for Titleist players across the worldwide professional golf tours, as seven more players entered the winner's circle around the globe this weekend. Headlining the action, Max Homa captured his first PGA TOUR title, trusting the new 2019 Titleist Pro V1 golf ball and new TS4 driver to raise the trophy at the Wells Fargo Championship.

With additional victories on the European, LPGA, Web.com, Champions, Asian/Korean and South African Tours, players trusting their games to a Titleist golf ball have now collected 63 wins across the worldwide professional tours. That's nearly five times the nearest competing brand with just 13 and more than all competing brands combined.

Max Homa [New 2019 Pro V1 golf ball, TS4 (9.5°) driver, TS3 (15°) fairway metal, 818H2 Hybrid (19.0°), 718 MB (4-9) irons, Vokey Design SM7 pitching (46.10 F Grind), gap (50.12 F Grind), sand (54.14 F Grind) and lob (60.04 L Grind) wedges, Scotty Cameron T5 W putter] endured weather delays in Charlotte and a gifted field of pursuers in capturing his first career victory at Quail Hollow. Playing in the final group for the first time in his career, Homa closed with a 4-under-par 67 en route to a 15-under 269 victory total. He finished three shots clear of Joel Dahmen (Pro V1), who also secured his best-ever PGA Tour finish.

With his win at the Wells Fargo Championship, the 28-year-old rises to No. 35 in the FedEx points standings. He also earned a spot the upcoming PGA Championship, as well as next year's Masters.

According to Darrell Survey, for the sixth time this season, Titleist achieved the feat of sweeping every major equipment category at a PGA TOUR event. This time it was The Wells Fargo Championship - and by looking at the counts, the choice is overwhelmingly clear.

From GOLF BALLS to DRIVERS, FAIRWAY METALS and HYBRIDS to IRONS, WEDGES and PUTTERS, the Titleist brand was the overwhelming field favorite as the Tour starts gearing up for the second major of the year.

Titleist was also the most popular choice among players in the driver category, with 44 Titleist models in play. Of those Titleist drivers, 40 were TS models (TS2 - 10 | TS3 - 25 | TS4 - 5).

The Titleist TS3 continues to be the most played single driver model on the PGA TOUR with 25 TS3 models in players' bags at the Wells Fargo, 7 more than the next closest driver model with 18.

Titleist was also the top choice in the fairway metal (57) and hybrid (22) categories. Of the 57 Titleist fairway metals in play, 46 were new TS models (TS2 - 22 ; TS3 - 24).

Titleist led the field in irons with 44 sets in play - 16 more sets than the nearest competitor.

The Titleist 718 AP2 (19) and the 718 MB (16) were the top two most played iron models last week.

More than half of all wedges in the Wells Fargo field (223/51%) were of the Vokey Design variety. The nearest competitor had 67 wedges in play.

Scotty Cameron putters were once again the field favorite last week with 52 Cameron putters in play, 6 more than the nearest competitor.

It was an all-Titleist playoff at the Volvo China Open where Mikko Korhonen (Pro V1x) claimed his second career European Tour title with a birdie on the first extra hole. He topped Benjamin Hebert (Pro V1), who gained the playoff berth when he birdied the final hole of regulation after driving the par 4. Last week’s Trophée Hassan II champ Jorge Campillo (Pro V1) finished solo 3rd, missing out on the playoff by one shot.

Korhonen and Hebert both reached the playoff with matching 20-under-par 268 totals in regulation play. Korhonen fired a final round 6-under 66 to come from three shots behind the overnight leader.

For Hebert, it was a second runner-up finish on the European Tour, while Campillo has now finished in the top three in five of his last six starts.

Titleist Brand Ambassador Robby Shelton won with a birdie on the first hole of an all-Titleist sudden death playoff at the Nashville Golf Open.

Shelton birdied the final hole of regulation to advance to the playoff before birdieing the same hole again for the win.

The victory was the first for Shelton on the Web.com Tour and moved him to second on the Tour’s 2019 money list.

The top 25 players at the end of the regular season will receive PGA Tour cards.

Shelton’s win marks the ninth for Titleist golf ball players through the first 10 events on the 2019 Web.com Tour.

It was three-way, all-Titleist golf ball playoff at the LPGA Mediheal Championship, where Sei-Young Kim (Pro V1) birdied the first extra hole to top Pro V1x players Bronte Law and Jeung Eun Lee for her eighth career LPGA Tour win.

Kim has now won at least once in each of the five years she has been on the LPGA Tour.

All three players finished regulation play at 7-under-par 281, a benchmark set by Law over two hours prior to the final group finishing. Law, who started the day 10 shots behind the overnight leader, fired a Sunday-best 7-under-par 65 to race up the leaderboard in the quest for her first career win.

Scott McCarron (Pro V1) won the Insperity Invitational for his 10th PGA Tour Champions victory and second in three weeks. (He won the Mitsubishi Electric Classic two weeks ago in Georgia.)

McCarron held off Scott Parel (Pro V1x) by two strokes, closing with a 5-under-par 67 to finish at 17-under 199, and tying the tournament record since the event moved to The Woodlands in 2008.

HaeTee Lee raises his arms in triumph after claiming victory at the 2019 GC Caltex MaeKyung OpenHaeTee Lee | Pro V1x - GC Caltex Maekyung Open

HaeTee Lee, playing the Pro V1x golf ball, birdied the third extra hole to capture the GS Caltex Maekyung Open, an event co-sanctioned by the Asian and Korean Tours. Lee, who led the tournament following each of the first three rounds, closed with an even par 71 and advanced to a sudden death playoff with a 9-under 275 total.

Martin Rowher (Pro V1) won his first career Sunshine Tour title with a 12-point victory at the Investec Royal Swazi Open.

Rowher closed with a 5-under par 67 to finish with a 59-point victory total, 12 points clear of fellow Titleist Brand Ambassador Jake Roos (Pro V1x, TS3/9.5 driver, 917F2/15.0 fairway metal, 818H1/19.0 hybrid, 718 AP2 irons, Vokey Design wedges) and Steve Surry (Pro V1).

Jean Hugo [Pro V1x, TS3 driver (8.5°), TS3 fairway metal (13.5°), 718 CB/MB irons, Vokey Design wedges, Scotty Cameron putter] and Stephen Ferreira (Pro V1) tied for 4th with 45 points, as each of the top five finishers relied upon Titleist golf balls for their success.

A point was deducted for every bogey and 3 points deducted for a double bogey or worse.

Titleist was the top choice in golf balls at the Royal Swazi Open with 85% of the field of 72 (61 players) relying on a Pro V1 or Pro V1x golf ball, more than five times the nearest competitor with 15% (11 players).
