Adrian Meronk Earns His Third DP World Tour Title of the Season

DP World Tour | Estrella Damm N.A. Andalucía Masters

Adrian Meronk (Pro V1) followed a pair of front-nine eagles with a 4-under closing 9, including a birdie on the par-3 17th, to clinch the one-shot victory at Real Club de Golf Sotogrande.

MERONK ON HIS PRO V1

  • Adrian Meronk has now won four times on the DP World Tour since making the move to Pro V1 at the start of 2022.
  • Previously a Pro V1x player, Meronk found during testing that the flatter trajectory of Pro V1 gave him more control on approach shots, while delivering the optimal amount of spin into and around the green.
  • “I feel like I can control my irons and the shots into the wind much better and it doesn’t spin as much. So I think that was the main key for me,” Meronk said. “And also with the wedges, I can play low trajectory shots that just skip on the green and one hop and stop.”
  • “Just consistent feel off the face and how it reacts on the green. Just a consistent spin as well,” Meronk said about Pro V1 in the short game. “I like to see the shots going quite low, a lot of spin. So with the Pro V1, it was quite consistent for me.”

AMATEUR | World Amateur Team Championship

The United States captured the World Amateur Team Championship for the first time since 2014, outpacing second place by 11 shots.

  • Each of the three U.S. team members – Gordon Sargent, the 2023 U.S. Amateur Champion (Pro V1) and the 2023 Jones Cup Champion (Pro V1x Left Dash) – finished in the top 5 individually, with the U.S. Am champ taking home solo 2nd place at 15 under.
  • The all-Titleist golf ball trio are the first Americans to win a Walker Cup and a World Amateur Team Championship in the same year since Justin Thomas.
  • Both Sargent and the 2023 Jones Cup winner gamed an all-Titleist setup, including TSR2 drivers, NEW T-Series utilities, Vokey Design SM9 wedges and Scotty Cameron putters.
  • In addition, the individual champion – also the winner of this summer's Western Amateur – played a Pro V1x golf ball, TSR3 driver and full bag of Titleist equipment.

SARGENT EARNS PGA TOUR CARD

  • Titleist Brand Ambassador Gordon Sargent made history this week, becoming the first player to secure a PGA TOUR card through PGA TOUR University Accelerated.

  • Sargent’s start this week at the World Amateur Team Championship officially earned him his 20th point.

  • The Vanderbilt standout led the U.S. team in points, going 4-0 in his matches and becoming just the 19th player in history to do so at the Walker Cup.
  • While Sargent is the first player to secure TOUR membership through the recently developed program, only three players since 2010 would have secured their card by reaching the 20-point threshold: Patrick Cantlay, Justin Thomas and Patrick Rodgers
