Jason, speaking as one of the Team Titleist Ambassadors, this is something that originated from Titleist last year to members of Team Titleist, who are brand loyalists, regulars on this site and those who attend TT sponsored events. I believe it started with their top 100 posters and is for their most active members. Welcome to Team Titleist, stay active and you will know when you reach that plateau, which is determined by Team Titleist management/staff and you receive the TT Ambassador bag tag in the mail. This would be my guesstimate. Step one, you have joined Team Titleist.

Jason, this group is a community of brand enthusiasts and not actual company employees. A few company employees do the site administration and occasional posting but you will be better off reaching out to your local Titleist rep to discuss what can and cannot be done to provide you with support as a PGA member. Brand Ambassadors are the highest paid playing professionals for Titleist, similar to the other manufacturers. Knowing a few sponsored tour players, higher compensation comes with higher performance. You'll more than likely start at entry level, work your way up. I do know the Korn Ferry guys make nowhere near what people think they make, as I was surprised when guys in the circle told me. Correct Edward. Most beginning players, PGA teaching and club professionals go under contract with Titleist for equipment deals, not monetary compensation. They get clubs, balls, bags, etc. I had a buddy that was a teaching professional and club assistant for years and had Titleist support for many years. He was responsible for pointing me towards Titleist by getting me started with some hand me down clubs.

Check. Thought about that when I responded, but figured he might be interested. I play with a former PGA touring pro who now is an instructor. In his late fifties and only played on tour for a couple of years. Lost his tour card and is an amateur like us now. Life Time Member of the PGA. Has to attend yearly seminars to retain that membership. Has no brand affiliation. Reps do work with Head Pros and are limited to number during the year. Maybe the below will also help Jason.

Titleist provides product support to exempt players on several worldwide professional tours, including the US PGA TOUR, PGA EUROPEAN TOUR, LPGA TOUR, CHAMPIONS TOUR, NATIONWIDE TOUR, AUSTRALASIAN TOUR, ASIAN TOUR, JAPAN GOLF TOUR, CANADIAN PGA TOUR, SOUTH AFRICAN PGA TOUR, JAPAN PGA SENIOR TOUR and EUROPEAN WOMEN'S TOUR. For these tours we provide golf balls and golf gloves to over 2,000 professionals worldwide. Titleist believes it is important to stay in contact on a promotional level with the next generation worldwide exempt player. I have been playing Titleist my entire life, I learned to play golf on a 9 hole course in a small town, with Titleist Acushnet AC-108 irons in the early 70's. Have played nothing but Titleist (the owner of a golf shop calls me Mister Titleist), I am no where close to pro but would love to be able to put a Team Titleist Ambassador bag tag on my bag. So if anyone with any kind of pull is reading this, hook up a lifelong Titleist guy.

Chuck, I'm confused. Not sure on this as I'm not a PGA member, but isn't it a conflict of interest to be a PGA member (lifetime) and then also be a reinstated amateur?

After rethinking he plays with us amateurs, does not play in any Pro events or amateur events, but would be classified as a Pro, because he is a teaching pro. There are some rules for former Pros being reinstated as Amateurs, but being he is a teaching pro, he would not be an Amateur. Clear my head and yours. Sorry. He does not have a game to beat even most of us old timers. So do not think of him as a pro. Just a good friend and teacher. Love it when I beat him.

Age plays funny game on the old brain. In our senior men's group are two PGA pros. Tim is a teaching pro who I play with and one a retired PGA shop pro who is a life time member and did not play on the tour. Jim ran a number of courses in the area at Kiawah and owned one in Asheville. Sold it and is now retired playing with us mere mortals. Tim, who I play with regularly, cannot return to being an amateur because of how much money he has made. Guess I got Tim and Jim confused, my bad.

As a former PGA Pro I have done the USGA Reinstatement. Now I am classified as an Amateur. I have some hope to play in some USGA events which is why I did it. Honestly as someone who never played in Professional tournaments it seems more of a money grab than anything else. I made a living teaching and running golf courses not playing. This is really the difference between a Golf Professional and a Professional Golfer.

I am a little confused from the original post as to which direction they want to go. Are we talking about a Club professional and in that case the best way is to get on with a great facility and work to be a Titleist staff player, like I was. Or the other option is to grind it out on mini tours and try to get into q school.
