  1. Evening all I have a Tensei Raw White 75 3w shaft that I would like to put into a TSI 5w. When trimming it 1” would it need to come off of the butt or tip or 0.5” from each end? Thanks

If you do it yourself, check with the shaft specs. They usually have the information you are looking for. Remember that any tipping suggestions are based on an untipped shaft to start with, so if they recommend 1/2" for a 3 wood it probably has already been cut so you have to subtract that from the 5 wood recommendation.

Think I would discuss it with a local Titleist professional club repairman at a titleist account. Could call customer service and see they would advise. We are Titleist loyalists like yourself.
  4. It’s likely already been tipped before it was installed in the 3w, but without graphic measurements, it’s hard to know how much. I would put it straight it, then take it to the range and choke down 1” to see how it plays. I like to put a piece of tape on the grip because I tend to creep towards the end of the grip, even when trying to choke down.

If it’s playing soft or you don’t like the feel, tip it an additional 0.5” and trying again. With a 3” parallel tip section and insertion depth usually 1-1.25”, I try not to tip a shaft more than 1.5” total, preferring to leave a portion of the PTS above the adapter when installed. Either way, I would do a little testing before cutting anything.

Check shaft manufacturer’s website for tip trimming specs for 5W.
