2019 Pro V1 and V1x?

    Assuming Titleist is continuing the 2 year refresh cycle on the Pro V1 and Pro V1x, any insights as to what changes we may be seeing, what issues may be addressed, suggestions implemented, etc.? I believe strongly, as Titleist suggests, to play the same ball regularly. With this in mind, I've weeded out my massive V1 collection (or horde) to keep only the last 2 generations in my stockpile. I've been tossing my leftover prior generation balls to random kids on the course (please try this, I've honesty seen pure joy in some of those kids eyes when they realuze what they've got. I usually say something like "Nice shot. You play well enough to play this. Give it a try'). My question is, I suppose, as there are some pretty big differences between the 17/18's and the 15/16's now, and I'm trying to get, and stay current, can I expect a world of difference with the 2019 version? Thanks!

    Those of us who are fortunate to be selected to receive a white sleeve of Titleist Pro V1 or Pro V1x prototype golf balls to participate in the Titleist R&D testing process should be checking their mailbox in September/October. The number 1 golf ball in golf!

    I received my sleeve of the new 2019 Proto golf balls yesterday. Today I played them next to my Pro V1 balls. Here is my opinion. The new Proto ball certainly has a lower trajectory. They seem to have a bit of a harder cover. They do not go as far as the Pro V1 maybe a few yards less. They do not sound as solid off my driver and irons as the Pro V1. Around the green and putting they feel ok.
    So all in all if this is what Titleist will be going to next year I'd better get use to them. I will stock pile as many Pro V1 golf balls as I can and when they run out I will switch.

    My guess is the next release will be more of a evolution, compared to the last that approached a revolution. I could actually see me stocking up on 2017 Pro-V1's like I haven't done since NXT became NXT-Tour. If it got much better, winners of 14-18 majors might stoke the fire to cut back the ball.

    I found that the V and the X swapped in the last evolution. I find the X spinning tremendously more than the V, which i was highly disappointed with. I’m hoping they go back to the X being a lower spinning ball for accuracy.

    It took a little getting used to, for me, definitely. Still wavering between them both.

    I agree that the 2017 V and Vx were basically swapped. I have played the X for years, but have been struggling since the introduction of the 2017 Pro V 1/V 1 x trying to decide which ball now fits my game. The X spins like the 2015 V, and vice versa. I do prefer the length I get with the X, and the spin coming into the green with a full shot, but man they check up fast! I am a high spin player, so.... Conversely, the V is awesome around the green, but not as good for me in my full shot game. I have tried other manufacturers comparable balls, but ALWAYS come back to Titleist. I also played a few sleeves of the AVX’s. Nice, but not enough spin for me. I am definitely looking forward to the yellow 2019, and hoping/assuming they’re won’t be a model overhaul like 2017. Titleist is still absolutely the best! I’m hooked!! Enjoy!

    Just read an article that optic yellow Pro V1 and Pro V1x are coming in 2019.

    I liked the 2015 Pro V1 X the better than the 2017 version which seemed to feel firmer and carry shorter with my irons by 5 yards. So I'm hoping 2019 gets back to the original characteristics of both balls.

    I loved the 2015 V1's it took me a year to start playing the 17's but now that's all I play. I hope the changes are as Don said evolution as I am not sure i can take another change like the 15-17's were. We will be finding out soon as the test balls start rolling out soon.

    2017 version are my favorite the continued consistency that you expect from the #1 ball in golf but the return to the lower spin.

    Having met the R&D guys I am excited to see what they are working on for the next version of the Pro V1

    I can't agree enough, Rob. With some companies, it's just hype. At Titleist, the hype is real. I think that's what you get when you listen to your product's users, first, not the marketing folks. It's essentially like the users designed it, I guess that's why, since it's introduction, the professionals have chosen the V1 family by an unmistakably huge margin.

    I have never been disapponted in the performance of the Pro V1 and Pro V1X's so I'm sure R & D will be up to the challenge of producing another winner next year. However, I'm looking forward to the release of the optic Yellow colored Pro V1 and Pro V1X's in 2019.

    Random, and a complete profile helps. Well, random to us. Titleist likely uses current listed ball, location, and handicap (from a profile) to get a good cross reference of user experiences for feedback. From time to time, a box can show up in your mailbox asking for feedback.

    It is a random selection. Stay active on Team Titleist, get your profile up to 100% and then you just never know what will show up at your door/mailbox.

    got my proto 2019 sleeve today, red number 1 so assuming prov1x , will update thursday or friday after my 9 hole round wednesday evening.

    Am looking forward to making the trip to Ball Plant 3 to see how the magic is made. Any idea when production will be ramping up for the new optic yellow ProV's? I'd love to see how they're produced along with the other great Titleist line-up.

    Played a round with the 2019 prototype ProV1x and did not notice much of a difference. The 2019 seems to go a bit farther compared to the 2017. It holds in the wind a lot better compared to 2017. Ball started scuffing after 9 holes so durability has not really changed. It felt really good, but spins A LOT off irons and wedges. Overall, felt like a great golf ball.

    Am heading out Wednesday afternoon to play with my friend down at Sea Pines Country Club, HHI, who, also, is a member of Team Titleist at his member/guest thru the weekend. Many of you met him at Pinehurst. Prov1s will be in my bag. Look forward to the event. Titleist and FootJoy will be providing the tee gifts, after the practice round on Thursday. Our game and handicaps are similar and hope we can win our group and make it to the championship shootout on the final day. If they are not playing one ball rule, I am taking a sleeve of AVX in case the fairways are rolling fast. Really appreciate he and his wife for hosting me for the event. As he says, it should be a lot of fun. Titleist rules......

    I received the little white box with the 2019 Proto's. I found the trajectory lower than the old Pro V1s. but with the shorter scoring clubs found a vast improvement, the ball seems to spin better and stop quicker, at least with my flight.. Putting the new ball was a joy, it seems to jump off the club and hug the ground better a nicer feel. Chipping the extra spin allowed for the check and shorter roll out. Looking forward to the new release. Did prefer the Pro V1X over the Pro V 1.

    Such a high class product. I'm glad it's out of my league. I'm very much interested in getting testers of the td trusoft or Velocity there my go to balls.

    Do love reading about the big daddy though.

    Hard and Stiff from the Tee box. Great feeling from the Fairway. Great texture for spin control as well. After the front 9 I must admit I switched balls for putting. Overall great looking/feeling ball. Great job. Look forward to future tests!
