I'm looking for a ball that will launch high, provide mid-spin, release consistently with chips. I know Titleist PROV1 has different models now, with left dash, +, etc. I'm leaning towards PROV1x, however, would like to know offerings within the PROV1 series. Thanks TT!

All the ball offerings are listed under the "Balls" section tab at the top of the website. Tons of information there including a virtual ball selection tool that helps you choose the right one for you. Narrow down a few, get a few sleeves and head to the course. No better way to make your final pick than to play the ball.

Hi Stephen..You can try the ball selector tool on the Titleist web site that can give you a idea what ball would fit your game or you can do a one on one video chat with one of Titleist product reps..hope this helps...

The ball selector tool also gives you an alternative recommendation, so get sleeves of both and try them out.
  5. Once you make your selection you need to try them on the course to get the feel if they fly correctly and feel just how you want them
Nothing like hitting a ball for real under real conditions

Typically in all of the testing and articles I've seen, the ProV1X left dash is usually the longest ball in the Titleist lineup. That said, and mentioned on these treads many times, its really important to test your golf ball from the greens (putting, chipping, pitching) back to irons and then driver. Make sure the ball fits your whole game - your hitting irons, chips and definitely putts on every hole...best case, only 14 drivers. Something to keep in mind - but definitely test them out on your own on the course.

Probably not the ball but the swing and/or driver. Distance variance on each ball is not as great as the variation created by swing speed, launch angle, smash factor (solid hit with squared face). Pick the ball best for short game and irons and then get fit for a driver using that ball in your fitting. Driver loft and shaft selection will give you the best results. After that, a teaching pro can help with technique. Besides that, do what I have done, move up to the shorter tees. Golf is pretty fun again.

Agree with Dale, I moved up to the next tees, and gained ten to fifteen yards off the tees. But now I can keep up with my younger opponents. Definitely agree with talking to a pro. For those whose swing speeds are in the 80s might try the tour speed or tour soft and if you are looking strictly for length, the Velocity is a hard long ball. The Prov1x left dash is a long ball but it is a premium tour ball plus not easy to get at times, and requires a faster club head speed to get optimum distance with it. Dale has given you some good suggestions that should help you make your decision.
