Wallace Goes Wire-to-Wire for Open de Portugal Win

"It's the best feeling ever. It's always been a dream to win on the European Tour," said Matt Wallace (Pro V1x golf ball) moments after claiming his first career victory on the European Tour at the Open de Portugal. Wallace jumped out to a quick start by posting scores of 63 and 66 in his first two rounds, had a five-shot lead heading into Sunday and never looked back. He closed with a 4-under par 69 en route to a 21-under 271 victory total that capped off the wire-to-wire win.

Julian Suri (Pro V1 golf ball) finished three shots back in solo second and, in fact, the leaderboard featured 10 Titleist golf ball players among the 11 who finished in the top 10 and ties, including each of the top five.

TITLEIST BY THE NUMBERS

Titleist was the most relied upon golf ball in the field with 118 players teeing up a Pro V1 or Pro V1x golf ball. That's more than eight times the nearest competitor with 14.

Wallace’s win marks the 11th for Titleist golf ball loyalists this season, more than five times the nearest competitor with 2.
