Don’t know if anyone else feels like this but how good does it sound to hear the ball drop into the bottom of the hole now.

Its that little noise I realised I have missed more than I thought.

Also after a nearly a year and half, how big do the holes look now without the pin in.

  2. Yep it’s so much better, but ce had my fair share of bouncing off the ball lifters ect costing me shots in club competitions so I’m happy they are gone !! Don’t know why we never just said to sanitise hands after touching the rake or flag instead of removing/banning ‍♂️
  3. Simon,
Have to say I don't mind holing out with the flag in - especially from off the green!!!

  4. Best thing to happen in nearly a year and a half. Never did like a flag being left in.
Now if someone can tell me what these long metal forky things are in the bunkers…………..

I wish someone would tell all the members/visitors in our club.

so much better with the flag out from 5 foot away, to me it makes the hole bigger.

Agree having the choice to take the flag out is most welcome. Mixed thoughts on the rakes as some seem not to have got the message that they're back or are just too lazy to get one..
  8. So far, in the games I’ve played, we’ve left the flag in.
Our club has used flag poles that is very thin at the bottom. As such the ball can reach the bottom of the hole and balls bouncing off hasn’t been too much of a problem.
I’ve had to use the rakes a few times though.
  9. I’ve continued to leave the pins in - two reasons:

    1. It’s just so much quicker to not bother with flag removal
    2. Whilst I play wearing glasses, I don’t wear them to putt - the flag makes it easier to see the target.

I am missing the ability to place my ball when in the bunker though!
