What's everyone's golfing goals for 2021, hopefully after lockdown im hoping to get some decent scores in on comp days at my club, sort out my short putting yips and like probably a lot of people hit more fairways. Lets hope we get back out on the course soon.

  2. My goal is to enter competition haven't played in a club tournament since I was a Junior and I'm starting to play golf I'm happy with again so just continue that.

I am the same as James. Got back in to it just over a year ago after having a great junior 'career' and back to playing some decent golf. Would love to get a board job won this year and get on the wall of the club.

    Kirkcaldy,

At the moment just be good to get a game with this weather and lockdown. Goal is to try and maintain handicap index as got down to the lowest i'd ever been just before the switchover to whs
  5. 1. Simply to play golf and make the most of opportunities to do so.
    2. Practice and actually try and remember/ repeat what I have learned in my one or two lessons a year!
    3. Work on the putting to minimise the silly and unnecessary 3 putts.
    4. Get the WHS handicap to single figures as it has been idling too long now in the low double digits.

My objective is to get out on the course and get lots more experience under my belt

Hopefully that will give me a better idea of my game so I will know what I need when I go for a club upgrade

If I get a new set of irons and 10-20 rounds in the first 6 months, I will be happy

Really just to play more when everything reopens - need to look at joining a club and/or finding more people to play with.

Finally taking money off my playing partners, I. Getting too used to handing it over on the first tee!
  9. Some admirable goals there!

I’m aiming to play some new courses and play to enjoy/appreciate being in an outdoor space - if I can improve my putting stats that would be an added bonus

Just got an TPI assessment done, was assigned stretch workouts for the next month 5 times a week until my next assessment. I have lower back issues in my lumbar L5 which causes major limitations in my hips.

51 years old and not getting any younger, plan is to lose 15 pounds to get back to my high school weight and gain strength, flexibility and lower my 5 handicap down to a 2 or 3 by year end. I am really looking forward to the TPI program and my instructor was very knowledgeable and informative and demands 110% dedication. I do all this physically, my golf game will improve.

  13. I just started playing about a year ago, so I'm definitely hoping to improve my swing and start working towards playing on a course! (I've mainly been hitting at the range).

Just want to get back playing, golf closed and work also halted so the days are very long. Poor dog is worn out from all the walking lol.
  16. Declan,
I suppose that's what they mean by "a dog's life"???

More of a bucket list thing but to play the old course at St Andrews. Hopefully a window of opportunity this year due to the travel restrictions.

Just to get out there and play and enjoy some golf in safe conditions where I can take the flagstick out for short putts!

Just to do 18 holes feels like it would be a goal achieved right now!

Practice more and get from 10 to 8 handicap.
  22. I did a comprehensive, thorough, reasoned response the other day... But it didn't hit for some reason - Perhaps Luke is still laughing at my ambition??? Anyway, here goes what I can remember...
    * Play to my handicap (12) or better over the season
    * Finish my fitting for a TSi 3 wood and get it in the bag
    * Actually get to Spain for our golf holiday, carried over from last year
    * Play more Vets Matches against other clubs - hopefully inc Wallasey, which has evaded my attention for years
    * Maybe a new bag, the yet-to-be-released TSi hybrid... I'm sure there will be more...

As I'm on the back 9 of life there are some key things for me to achieve each year around fitness and mobility so I like to give myself a golfing goal to make sure I keep to my fitness regime.

I also like the challenges of playing other courses as this keeps the golfing mind working.

Last year there was a template on the Clubhouse forum which I used but there doesn't seem to be one there for 2021 so I've updated last years.

Like everyone else in UK (except Scotland) I'm just looking to getting back out there.
