  1. Hi Everyone,

I just wanted to share my dad's story. He has been the high school boys golf coach in my home town for 37 years and the girls coach for 10. About 8 years ago, he was at a high school tournament helping someone look for their ball in tall grass and he found a Pro V with a number in the 50s. He had found others with numbers above the normal 1-8 and he decided that he would see if he could find a Pro V with every number between 0-99. About a month and a half ago, he finally got the last one, number 60. None of these balls were customized and bought by him. Most were found at our home course. Some at high school tournaments. A couple were given as gifts to him and signed with the initials or his girls teams. Some were found by friends. I found a couple in pictures on Facebook marketplace and 1 in a tub of used Pro Vs at a Play it Again Sports.

A few years ago, he was talking about wanting something to display them in. We looked online and everything was on the pricy side. So, I designed a display case and with the help of my brother in law, we were able to make it and give it to my dad.

We wanted to have a top part of the case with the title, so we asked my dad what he wanted. He was adamant that it did have his name on it and he wanted it to somehow say that he had help from others when finding these balls. My dad is very much the kind of guy that doesn't like to take credit and he gives the credit to others. With all of that in mind, we settles on the title being "A Golfer's Collection. Found with the help of family and friends."

My dad is retiring at the end of this year. We are starting an alumni golf tournament in his name to help raise money for our golf teams each year. Right now, our kids buy their own shirts, equipment, rain gear, etc. We would like to be able to at least buy their shirts and some other gear. I hope my dad's story is seen by someone higher up with Titleist as it would be cool if I could give my dad some kind of recognition by Titleist for his accomplishment at his retirement party.

I hope everyone enjoys his story and it inspires them to start their own collection. Let me know if you have any questions about his story, as I would love to answer them.

This is why golf is the coolest sport around. This is an incredible story! For those of us who don't work at Titleist, let us know about the Alumni tournament... wondering if we can help in some way to assist the golf teams.

Amazing. While I have used custom numbers (mostly purchasing yellow balls now). Other than my own lost custom number balls I have only seen 1 other custom number w/o a 8/z on it.
