I shamefully admit that my Newport 2 has some knicks and dings from knocking against wedges between the cart and green. Usually I wouldn’t care, but they’re on the top line and those little shiny dings are distracting. If I send it into the Scotty Cameron shop, do they polish it out and make it shiny, or will it look brushed like it did when I bought it? Also, is weight loss going to be a factor? Anyone out there deal with this?

If you send it to the custom shop and have them do a restoration, it will come back looking brand new. Like from the day you bought it. It’s totally worth it, if you love the putter and don’t want to get rid of it. However, it can get expensive if you are adding other customizations as well as the shipping costs, almost to the point of it being the same as just buying a brand new one. Might I suggest keeping a headcover on it to protect your investment, with respect. David

When you send it in they will let you know if the dings or scratches are beyond repair. Ive sent in putter and they wanted to take off too much weight to repair the scratches, so I had them sent it back. Use a head cover and you'll save a lot of the described problems.
