Breezy day. 129 yard par 3 with wind in the face. I played it about 140 and let her rip. Small fade right towards the flag, I thought “maybe?”, but I’ve had my fair share of close calls so probably not. The hole was blocked so you couldn’t see the cup. My buddy claimed to have heard something. I didn’t and kind of shrugged it off. We start our walk and as the green gets into view, there’s nothing there. I start to think I ended up short maybe in the first cut, nothing. I take a look at the hole from a distance and see the ball mark and think “no fu****g way.” One last place to check and there she was. Titleist 8 sitting pretty waiting for me ….
