Yesterday was the first memorial tournament for a really close friend of mine, who we had lost earlier this year. Fondly he was known to all of us as The Sez, and would routinely scream and shout to fire up whatever group he was with, at whatever golf course he was at. His energy was infectious, and we lost him far too soon.
Third hole of the inaugural Sezzy, 8 iron and a straight dunk too, he was certainly there with us all yesterday. I had spent the entire week or so being an emotional mess with all of the memories at Hartefeld and beyond. I stopped at the cemetery the night before for a few minutes to shed a few more tears, and was thinking how cool would it be if it did happen for anyone that morning. So for this to happen yesterday, at Hartefeld, in his honor, and as my first one will be a memory I will cherish forever.
Sez, we miss you so much. But I know after you guided this one in you were up there screaming as loudly as we were. LETS GO!!
