I carded my first ace on 8/31 with my good buddy, Eric Johnson, as witness. It was a last minute tee time booking, late the night before. We decided to drive a ways to get to a course that we both hadn't played for several years, Pevely Farms in Eureka, MO. I wanted to hit some long irons and different clubs, so we played the blue tees so we would have some longer shots into greens. I was playing a decent round, striking the ball well, short game was not working well though, what's new...It was a hole 8, 202 yards, slightly uphill. I was between a 3 and 4 iron but decided to take a little extra. I'm a lefty so I played a cut off the bunker front right of the green. I made solid contact with a nice smooth swing, the ball was on line with the edge of the bunker and started to cut towards the center of the green as I had pictured the shot in my head. It appeared to be rolling towards the pin, and we couldn't actually see it drop, but it looked like it just, "disappeared." I looked at my buddy and said, "that might be in!" We pulled out his range finder and I climbed up on the cart to get a better look, no ball on the green. Now I'm really getting excited. I was first to go so the group, we were paired with a couple randoms, finished their shots. Eric starts the video footage from the tee box. We made the long drive to the green and I start running out of the cart towards the pin. By this time I'm feeling pretty confident it could be in the hole. I jog up to the pin, look down, and there it is! Overcome with emotion and greeted with high fives all around! It was such an amazing experience, and something I will cherish for the rest of my life. I hope it isn't the last one I'll get, but I'm proud to say I am in the club!
