Hole in one on par 4! Itâs my third hole in one ever, and have always chased the albatross, but never did I think it would come as a hole in one! (Thought itâd be a 2 on par5)
I was playing with a 2 buddies that have only played a few rounds ever, and I think they are hooked now. The shot was a 298yd pin into the slight south Kansas wind and over a small burn. The day was getting late (8:05pm or so) and it was hot (101*)
I crushed driver to a hole I mostly can reach with sand in front and behind green. We got in our carts and I said to my buddy âthatâs gonna be f*****g closeâ, but when we got to the hole we didnât see it on the green. I checked the front and back bunkers and it wasnât there, and I didnât wanna be âthat guyâ and check in the hole. So I started looking further back. Thatâs when my buddy putted out and said âthereâs a ball in the holeâĶâ.
I didnât think anything of it cuz I thought he was messing with me or was just a random ball.. but I said âIâm playing a Titleist 1 ProV1 with a small purple dotâ
He said âyeah! This is your ball.â
I was shell shocked. I ran to the hole to check and see if it was mine, and sure enough! After celebrating and trying to explain what exactly just happened to some newbies we looked a for a divot and found it just on the fringe. I wanted to picture it coming into the hole (and fix it).
Iâve been close (about 13ft) on this hole before, and thought.. âwouldnât it be nice..â It was! As we moved to the next hole and I said (shaking) âthere is no way I am gonna be able to finish the last two holes.â, but we did.
The next hole is a short (132yd) par three and I was so hyped I accidentally hit my hole in one ball off the tee box. Right after it left my club face I remembered: âI might want to keep that..â and luckily it was a good hit. Too good. I looked at the ball then the pin and back again then said âthat is gonna go in too!â,
but it didnât.. it grazed the flag and it was close, but like 6 feet behind close.. so I two putted and then doubled 18.
What a day!
P.S. Oh! Had to celebrate (of course), got hammered on that Thursday night (Iâm 33 have to boys and another one due in 4 weeks, so Iâm not in great drinking shape). I worked 4:15am-3pm tired, hungover, and with good ole KS allergies kicking in from the wind. No one really ever talks about the day after.. Horrible! but worth it..
