For those of you that saw the video of me on TT, they focused on me as a family man. Yesterday I got to do something I was dying to do for 4 years now, take my wife and daughter out for her 1st round. I called Lyman Orchards and asked if I could take my 4 year old out for 9 holes to putt and chip around the green with us, and they allowed us to on the Apple 9 (a par 3/4 course they have on site). A HUGE THANK YOU THEM! We had a blast, and my daughter, Emma, knocked down a 20 foot putt, followed by dancing. After she asked if we could go to the practice green to putt around. We played for ice cream there on 3 putt challanges. My heart was full yesterday with thinking about playing into my old age with the wife and daughter.

What a fun filled day, Josh. It is awesome that you are introducing your daughter to the great game of golf at such an early day. I am sure this will be just the first of many memorable days on the course for you and your family.

That's what it's all about Josh. I always wish that my Dad would have played Golf so that we could have played together but he was a young man during the Great Depression of the 1930's and was lucky just to have a job.

Keep it up! I started my son by having him sit in the cart with me at age 2 1/2. Around 3, he wanted to start swinging. Now, at 6, we play full 18 hole rounds together multiple times a week. He beats my wife and my dad. Lol. Best of all, it creates memories we’ll never forget... what a game.

The best family sport there is (IMO)! I’d encourage you to look into The First Tee for your daughter if there is a local chapter where you live. Great program for junior golfers (all four of my kids participate in it).

Very nice guys. Great to see the kids getting started. Keeping it fun is the most important part. Well done.

That's so awesome! Most of my fondest memories of childhood are golfing with my family.

A good buddy of mine has two daughters (4 & 7) and both of them come to the course frequently. The 4 year old loses focus fast, but she loves to be out there. (I honestly think she likes the cart and animals on the course the best).

The 7 year old is actually starting to become a player. She's on this Operation 36 challenge where you start at the green and work backwards. She'll come out with us on some afternoons and play from 50 yards and in. When we were watching The Open at her house, she was hustling everyone on their small putting green.

Teach them young about the game, etiquette and such. Take them to an instructor for lessons. The game of golf should be a family affair. Never had that opportunity as a child. Picked up the game in 1985. Am 72 year of age.
  10. Amazing post! Nothing is more important than spending precious time with your family in a golf field. The best place to unwind and make some memories.
