TSR2 replacement for714 AP2 4 iron

    Hi, I want to replace my 714 AP2 4 iron with a TSR2 hybrid for 190 - 200 yard range. Originally thinking 4H for 4 iron but I read a 5H would be the equivalent loft. Any feedback is appreciated. Thanks

    If you need a hybrid due to losing club head speed for whatever reason, the TSR is no longer offered beyond some limited store inventory. The GTS hybrids will replace the GT models early next year.
    There should be a good supply of TSR models from resellers like 2nd Swing or Global Golf.
    For reasons not just shaft length, loft for loft, the hybrid will be longer. In my case I have a 29 degree 7 hybrid and a 29 degree T350. I needed to fill an almost 20 yard gap from the 7 iron to a 6 hybrid. Problem solved.
    I’ve worked with the chat consultants at 2nd swing. They can recommend trying a 4 or 5 hybrid to replace your 4 iron. With a dealer like that, you can try it for up to 30 days and exchange it for plan B if needed. Good luck.

    You can look at getting a 24° Hybrid on the used market cheap... I got a TSi3 from 2nd Swing for less than $100.
    The hybrid is hotter, it will like go at minimum half a club farther but probably more than your 4 iron.
    If that's the case you can loft it up a 1-2° and should dial the distance back a little.
    For example Nelly Korda plays a 26° png 5 hybrid at 25° she played it when she was with Titleist and still uses it now with tm. Her 5 iron is pretty much 25° but the hybrid at 25° goes 4 iron distance.

    Other options you can look into are U510 4 irons and T-MB 4 irons. I have a U500 3 iron (smaller head than 510) and a T-MB 2 iron and they're great at getting the ball up in the air.
