I am looking to switch out my 22 Degree hybrid for the U505 2 iron or 3 iron. Just want some advice on how I should handle the distance gapping. I currently play the T100 irons. Any advice helps thank you in advance!

  2. Three iron should be closer depending on length of shafts you chooseâ€Ķ. Hybrids and u505 are similar within 2 degrees of loft (u505 should 1-2 degrees stronger than your hybrid replacement) in my experience. Hitting them while getting fitted with trackman though is only real way to be accurate though.

If you want the same distance I’d say go with 2 iron. Carried my hybrid 205-210. My 2 iron in which I replaced the hybrid for carry’s the same distance and I feel as though I have more control over the ball and my swing for that matter with the U505.

I have the 3 iron and it is a beauty! It should be good to go for you. I will say my first hit with it was a little shocking since it's a hollow head, it just rocketed off the face! Quality stuff!
  5. best 3 iron ive put in my bag for a very long time cant go wrong gaps perfect for my 3 wood

Go get fit on trackman and fit a lot of 4 irons from the t100 set then hit the 505s and see where it fitsâ€Ķ otherwise you’re just guessing

I would try a fitting or hit demos in a golf shop with launch monitor to confirm gapping. Off the cuff, I would expect the 20 degree U505 3 iron would match your hybrid distance more closely.

There are some good videos that show Trackman data when guys are hitting clubs. I think I have seen hybrid vs utility iron comparisons. I would not rely on those videos alone but they will give you some good info before you test clubs.
