  1. I started consistently playing the AXV in early 2024. I personally found that I would get better roll out of my driver and woods, and a much more personally preferred softer feel on my irons and wedges. I honestly did not notice much of a difference in spin on the greens. What is your experience with the AVX?

  2. Trajectory seemed fine for me off the driver (not as low as I was expecting given the info about the AVX) and was long but I noticed greater release off irons shots into the greens compared to both the pro v1 and v1x.

I switched to the AVX a couple years ago because it released on the green better than the Pro V's. I typically play short of the flag and the Pro V's would check or spin back making for longer putts. The AVX would release so I had shorter putts. There are a few occasions where the AVX would also back up but more so due to the type of green and not my swing or the ball. I feel like I am more consistent off the tee with the AVX.

The 2022 version of the AVX was manufactured in Titleist Ball Plant 3 (sane as the ProV1 and ProV1X). It had a similar cover and was my favorite ball to play. Titleist discontinued the Tour speed at the end of 2023 and moved the 2024 AVX production to Ball Plant 5. Still a good ball, but I believe the 2024 has a different cover and launches slightly higher than the 2022 version.

It will be interesting what the makeup of the 2026 version will be.
  5. That’s very interesting! Really appreciate your sharing this information.
  6. I found the manufacturing backstory interesting, while the season here comes to a cold hard stop with temps in the 50deg zone, I’ve been considering an alternate from ProV1x - might just have to try a sleeve of AVX

AVX is a little too low for my liking off the tee. However, it is a great ball. Especially on and around the greens. Not my preferred ball but in a bind, I will use.
  8. The thing that keeps me from using the AVX is feel/spin around the greens and wedges under 100. Just not the same, and I can't trust it.
  9. I’m 73 and switched from ProV1 to AVX this year. I’m not getting the spin on the green I expected so I’m going to try Truefeel.

Curious why you elected to go with AVX.
I’m 75 and have used the X for several years. It’s subtle, but I benefit from the higher launch over the V. I had a chance to try the prototype AVX. Tried it on one par 3 hole and hit it well. Then hit an X about as well. For me, the difference was as dramatic as ever trying the AVX. Lost almost 10 yards on a 150 yard uphill hole as the peak height was easily 15 feet lower.
According to My Golf Spy, no surlyn/ionomer ball will ever match a urethane ball for spin. The “best” ionomer ball for spin was a TourSoft. Still not as much as the tour urethanes.

Generally I play the X and dabble with the left dash now and then. I've played the AVX a few times and my experience is when it's really windy, it works better for me. Played yesterday with 50 mph wind gusts and the AVX was easier to control. I found out that it doesn't work well when putting on a green covered with constantly moving leaves, pine needles and broken branches. An "automatic 2 putt" day.

Started playing the AVX consistently a few years ago. With the low spin in the long game, driver specifically, I feel I have more control of the ball especially on mishits. They don't spin off the planet. Also have confidence on approach shots for them to fly the number and stay vs inconsistent roll out and spin.
  14. Just recently switched to the AVX from the left dash and wow loving it. Not having so much spin off irons/ wedges and the low trajectory of driver is insane. Getting better rollout on drives and consistently getting 320+ drives
