  1. Hey guys! I was at a local Country Club last week and found myself in some trees, luckily I found a Pro V1 chillin' in there that wasn't mine. Who could resist? It looked brand new... Anyways this one was different. It has a different cover feel, still sticky to the thumb but more durable after a wedge. Meaning it scuffed differently than my other ball, is this part of the new proto? I feel like i was graced with the chance to find and play one but who knows. I gotta get my hands on them!

The 2019 prototype balls will have 2019 proto as the side stamp.
  3. They have the “normal” Titleist black logo and numbers but also have the side stamp- see photo

  4. Received three of the sample 2019 Titleist proto golf balls and was impressed with the ball flight, control and added distance achieved throughout the round. I shared the balls with two guys I team up with and believe you have two that are switching from Bridgestone to the new Titleist.
  5. Received my sleeve yesterday, sound off the putter feels more in depth but definitely will be put to the test at PGA West Greg Norman course in a couple weeks.

I played with the 2019 Proto balls yesterday miss round. Started off the day with a srxn Z-Star and after 8 holes of hitting the ball well switched over. I wanted to know what these were like on a day I was compressing the ball well and hitting my usual shots.

First shot was a driver that stuck sightly high toe and my immediate response was not good. I felt like I'd hit a rock (57 degrees out but not THAT cold). Ball flew okay but I'd thought it may have gone just OB (Blind landing area). Played a srxn for the provisional. Walking up to where I thought it may have been revealed that it was likely lost. Starting over to the provisional, I spotted a ball about 80 yards further up. It was my Proto.

I was amazed because I didn't feel I had gotten that much distance with the mishit but who else would have played a 2019 Proto with a line in blue market on it? Despite the not great feel off the driver I went on to play the rest of the round with it and it still looks new. Cover held up and my woods all gained about 10-15 yards. Starting to wonder if it's USGA legal (it is a prototype, after all), but man these things are long AND I was able to spin a couple wedge shots back - something unheard of for a typical distance ball.

Played the 2019 Proto ball for the 3rd time. I play the Pro V1 normally. The 2019 Proto seemed to play similar to the Pro V1, maybe slightly better. My typical shot off the tee is a fade. I was able to reliably fade the 2019 Proto using my driver and hybrid clubs. My iron shots went straight, unless I came into the ball not quite the way I wanted. My wedge shots seemed to be better than the Pro V1, and the 2019 Proto ball rolled nice in the greens. I felt like I had good control of my putts. Ball was reliable and predictable. The cover held up well also. I have a lot of Pro V1s to play with next year. Wish I could find out what the 2019 Proto ball is going to be. I really enjoyed playing it.

Thanks again for letting try them!!

Tested them on an indoor range with Flightscope. What I noticed was less spin to the previous V1 with the short irons (pitch on average 800 rpm less) has . Mid to high irons had a sudden noticeable distance gain (on average nearly 10yards). Driver was about the same.
    - since I am not looking for more distance, the drop in spin on my wedges would be a reason not to buy them... Sorry

Received my 2 sleeves in the first part of October, unfortunately we received 40 cm of snow on 02October ! Home course was closed for awile but managed to get a few rounds in when the snow melted.Fortunately a quick trip to Laughlin,NV allowed be to test out the protogolf balls.More durable cover for sure, the V1 was much easier to compress than the X.The V1 was comparable to other models as far as spin and check off wedges both on full shots and around the greens.I loved the V1 ,that's why it's been in my bag since day one.
  11. Just received 2 sleeves today hopefully test them this weekend weather permitting
  12. I received the black proto ball and really like it. Feels similar to the current pro V1 only better!

Got a sleeve in October (red number). Played a couple rounds before the weather turned. Pleased with the ball flight and roll out with the driver. Found that it spun a bit more with the short irons versus the current prov1x. Actually spun 2 wedges off the green on shots into a 5-10 mph wind. Since the weather has turned been testing on my skytrak simulator. Verry happy with the driver #’s. 167 ball speed, 2550 spin, 275+ carry, 14.5 launch, height 112ft, descent 39deg.
  14. Does anyone know when the new pro v1s are going to be released?

Titleist doesn't (yet) release every year. The Pro-V's would normally be released at the odd year PGA Show - a year from now. Every thing not named Pro-V just got released (the TrueFeel has it's own date 3 months prior to now). The 2019 ball is still the current Pro-V.

Slow read - fast response. Always check the date when/if I write a check. ;-)

  20. I played my first round of the year here in PA and I absolutely loved this ball!! So, is it just a 2019 prov1?? AVX? Or something brand new? Was great off the tee and very soft approaching the greens. No putting issues i can see. Hope to get my hands on more of these. Thx!
  21. I have a dozen brand new if you are interested

Maybe never used but not brand new. The 2019 Proto was the test ball released back in the fall of 2018 before becoming the current model ProV1. Same ball, different markings so anyone wanting the performance of a Proto only needs to buy the current model ProV1. There is one for both the ProV1 and ProV1x. That said, no reason not to continue to play the Proto until you run out.
  23. I have been trying to add to the discussion with regards to the sleeve sent to me to try. I have made at least two opinions for all to see however I don't know where they are and would like to see if my feedback is similar to others who participated in the trial
