I doubt it. But every manufacturer is different. I've always prepped the tip and just butt trimmed to playing length for all my shafts. And I have multiple manufacturers, including your Graphite Design ... I have the Tour AD DI7 in mine.

Thank you for taking the time to respond to my question Chris. So just to confirm your opinion, I should NOT trim the tip at all. Your Tour AD D17 doesn't feel too loose by not trimming the tip? Here is what I found for the installation specs for various Graphite Design Tour AD shafts and why I'm confused on what to do.

So you NEED to call someone and find out what the right thing to do for that exact shaft because - and get ready for this - sometimes tipping a shaft will actually have the OPPISITE effect that you're trying for. Now I don't know about that model in particular, but say, an AD GP will actually launch higher and spin more if you tip it.

The idea that it's a universal truth that tipping a shaft makes it launch lower and spin less is completely made up. It's simply not true and you should be looking to a club builder that truly understands what he's doing before to try to accomplish a ball flight with any particular shaft/configuration.
