I'd just like to thank David Miles for taking time out of his day to go through a proper putter fitting with me & a lesson in proper posture and ball position . We narrowed it down to the Scotty Newport 1.5 with the proper lie, length & loft , I can now go and purchase with confidence knowing I have been properly fitted and my setup was wrong. Also thanks to Michael for bending my current flat stick back to it's proper specs , but the biggest thrill for me was the tour of the titleist factory , mate I left that place drooling . If you ever get a chance to meet with David , he's a great guy that knows his stuff and cares about your game . Mate if you ever need some consumer feedback or participation on up and coming Titleist products , COUNT ME IN !  Thanks for everything John.

Dave, I would like to express how exciting this sounds. I've just purchased my 5th Scotty putter (notchback Newport 2 34") - I've owned all shapes, lengths and weights. To have the range in all shapes and lengths would enable the consumer to make the most informed decision. I was fitted for my AP2 irons and definitely benefited from the fitting pro's experience and knowledge as well as access to the different shafts and head shapes. My irons are half and inch over half a degree upright with wraps under the grips. Not just off the shelf or the net. Keep the dollars in the golf industry in oz not os. What would be the absolute winner for me (and I would pay for the experience) take this on the road to regional and rural Australia. I live in broken hill and I reckon we could stock a van then tour the country to Open tournaments and charge $50 to get fitted to the perfect clubs including the most important club in the bag the PUTTER. I love my quality Titleist gear and it just works the way I expect it too. Well that's my opinion. Regards TrevorW

    Hi Trevor,

Great to hear from Broken Hill. I also really like your idea of the Scotty Cameron Roadshow.  I'll keep you (and the rest of TT ANZ) posted how we progress.

Hi Dave, I second that, where in Sydney may i get fitted for a new SC putter like above?

  10. Hi Dave,

I'm in the same position as John was, completely confused by the various lengths, lies, lofts and weights of Scotty Cameron putters, and that's before we ge to the different styles!

I've been to several golf retailers, including some premier golf clubs in Sydney to discuss this issue and attempt to get some resolution, however the sum total advice has been "just try a few and see what you like". Surely there is a more suitable / professional way to do this? Not to mention very few retailers carry enough different models to really get a 'fee' for the setup I need?

I'm really very reluctant to be the guy who spends $500 on a putter, only to have it not be right and end up in my cupboard or on ebay.

I hope someone can help me out?

    Hi David

I am just about to buy my firs Scotty Cameron putter but before ordering it, I would like to get properly fitted for it.  I have been thinking it would be the Select Newport 2, but would like to make sure this is the right putter for me and that the length, lie and weight are also correct for me.

What is the best way to do this.  I am in Melbourne and would love a tour of the Titleist factory if available.

Hallo, i  am in a bad situation. I ordered a Titliest Scotty Camron Putter Carlifornia at a Tiitliest Demo-Day, when I was at Golf Club Schloss Langenstein in Germany. Know the excellent putter ist arrived and one Pro shorten it because  I need a very short on due to my  body size. The big Problem is know thet the Lie ist not correct. Our Pro says he can't bend it since he don't know if he could bend with the normal bending machine. In our city there are some very facilitied factories which could bent but they say thy must know mixture of the part which the have to bend.

Please could one of you help me.

The ground of my asking you I that  the Titliest agent in Grmany is not answering sine on month and I would like to use am new putter as soon as possible.

    Greetings from good old Germany.

    Hi Tashe,

Thanks for contacting Titleist via Team Titleist ANZ.  We can adjust the loft and lie of Scotty Cameron Putters using machines that are custom made from the Scotty Cameron factory so please don't put your putter in a vice and try to bend it yourself.  I'm going to put you in touch with our good friends in Europe and they will help you out with the adjustment to your putter.

    I will email you offline.

    Regards

    Hi Dave,

I'm looking into buying a Scotty Cameron putter and based on the info above would it be better to wait 6-8 weeks for a change in lie angle, I need 2 degree flat. My other option is that there is a standard newport 1.5 on the rack, can I bend it rather than waiting? I'm off to China on a golf trip in two weeks and would really like a new putter before I go. Any comments would be greatly appreciated.

Also is there anywhere in WA that I can be professionally fitted for a putter in a similar fashion to the original poster exerience?

    Thanks,

    Scott.

  15. Hello Dave,

Same question as above, who do you recommend for putter fittings in Melbourne.

  17. After 20 years of using the Odyssey putter Rosie II, I bought the Kombi.   I demo'ed first and putted well with it.

Then I put on the Fatso grip and have had issues with the weight of the putter now.  It feels too light now.

So I am now looking at switching out the weights as I have 2 ea. 10gram weights and 1  ea. 20gram weights to

all three 20gram weights.  I am also thinking I need to add weight to the grip if anyone knows how.

I cut if down 2 inches as I am 5'6" wanting to keep my arms hanging straight.

Does anyone have any input or suggestions ?

Since I loaned my clubs to a friend in town to play in the St. Jude pro am and he lost my old putter, I am now committed to the Kombi .

Lesson to be learned, if cut down any putter and put on a lighter grip, you will have weight and balance issues to deal with.

    Hi John or David

Can I ask where abouts in Melbourne you went to be fitted for your putter?  I dont seem to be able to identify in the conversation where you ended up going.  I'm in the same position as you now so am curiuos where the best place is to be fitted.

    Thanks

David actually invited me to Titleist head office for a tour of the place then we went across the road to MGA with half a dozen putters and tested them all out, different heads and shaft lengths , including a small lesson , fantastic day for me thanks Titleist once again.

First time that I am posting on TT...I have owned, tested and continue to own a number of Scotty Cameron putters. I have never been formally fitted and find that feel is the most critical thing for me to have success on the greens.

My only word of warning to anyone looking to purchase their first Scotty, beware as it can become a highly addictive activity but very enjoyable also.

  21. Hi David,

I see it’s been quite some time since this post..

Is there still a facility to get professionally fitted for a Scotty Cameron?

    Cheers
