Up and Down at Indian Mound

I was playing in the annual Jim Martin Golf Extravaganza at Indian Mound in Ossipee NH. Was having a decent round until I got an 8 on the par 5, 17th. When I set up for my tee shot on the 18th I remember thinking: "forget about where the ball may end up and focus completely on making good contact". I made perfect contact. The ball went high and straight, landed on the front of the green and rolled toward the flag with a little right curl at the end. I was stunned. It was surreal and emotional. We had about 36 golfers in our tournament and they were all excited for me. I didn't mind buying everyone a beer or two as it was my responsibility to uphold the tradition. I got some cash back for having a skin and closest to the pin. There was a debate about whether a hole in one was eligible since it was "in contact" with the pin. All in all, it was the perfect setting for a once in a lifetime shot.
