Dearest Titleist. I truly love you guys. I’ve always played Titleist balls. From playing the old Professionals in high school, to experimenting with DT Solos, NXTs and Velocity. As my game improved, the higher performance balls became a must. Lately, I’ve been into the ProV1x; probably playing them the past few years or so. But that’s about to change... ...and I think I have at least two fantastic reasons why.
On Tuesday, June 19th, while playing in our golf league at Idyl Wyld GC in Livonia, MI I took a smooth (pitching) wedge to a front right pin on #13. It was a calm, sunny evening and playing 125 yards. Hit it well. Because of the pin location, we lost the ball behind the bunker protecting the green, and only knew it was in when we checked the hole. I knew I hit it well but looked in the rough first behind the green. So couldn't believe it! (to boot, the ball checked - never get that action - and spun back a good 4' to 5').
Now, if that wasn't enough...
Only 5 weeks later, in the same league, we approached the 6th hole at Idyl Wyld on a stale, muggy Tuesday evening (July 24th). Hole was playing 143 yards with the pin on the middle left of the green. Pulled out a 9-iron and took a very aggressive line over the protecting bunker and right at the flag. Landed about 3 feet past the cup, checked and rolled back in for the ace.
Barely 35 days removed from my first ace, I was able to see this one track into the hole from the tee box.
Needless to say, the AVX is my new favorite. Fantastic golf ball. Zero in 22 years. Two in 35 days. Both balls from same dozen too
Just wish these two could stay in my bag; plenty of good shots were still left in ‘em. Signed, a fan for life.
Oh, and one of the bigger internet publications in Michigan told my story too!
