Tin Cup Hole in One
By Michael S On 24 February 2017
I am a member of the Clubs of Kingwood. This is the country club they filmed the movie Tin Cup at for the tournament scenes. We have 4 courses at Kingwood one of which surrounds our subdivision called the Barrington. The golfers in our community hold an annual best ball for the BGA (Barrington Golf Association). We were on hole number six at 130 yards and I was first off the tee. The green is slightly elevated, water on the right with a slight wind in our face, so I hit my 9 iron. I play a slight fade on the ball and was just left of the flag. It bounced 18 inches to the front left of the cup and rolled right in, however, none of us could see it go in. My buddy Tony remarked, does anyone see it on the green? No one wanted to say hole in one and "jinx" it. I thought maybe I hit it long. When we got to the green I saw a ball on the back fringe, but my buddy Brad said that was his ball. Tony was first on the green but did not want to approach the cup. He told me to look in the cup and sure enough, there is was sitting in the bottom. My first one ever after 34 years of playing golf. Thank you Titleist!!
