I play at Graywalls Golf course in Marquette, MI. It was rated as one of the top 100 new courses in America several years ago.
On July 13, 2013, I was playing with my usual group, and we came to the 15th hole. It is a 179 yarder, over a gully to a two tierde green. My tee shot, with a 5 iron, landed on the fringe and rolled right about 30 feet, into the cup. We all could see it and we had hugs and hand shake all around. That was my third hole-in-one.
On August 6, 2013, I was playing with the same group, as we approached the 6th hole. It is a 151 yarder, up hill, to a very undulating green. My tee shot, with a 6 iron, landed on the right fringe, and rolled about 20 feet to the left, into the cup. That was my 4th hole-in-one.
On August 8, 2013, I was playing with the same group, as we approached the 17th hole. It is a short, 121 yard hole with 3 distinct levels. I used a pitching wedge, which landed about 10 feet from the pin, and it too, rolled into the cup. This became my 5th hole-in-one.
That made three hole-in-ones in 26 days, and 2 in 3 days. Our pro Marc Gilmore, couldn't believe it, and said he had never heard of such a feet before.
I now have a total of 5 hole-in-ones. Believe this, my first two came at Walnut Hills CC in East Lansing, MI, some 30 years ago. Those two were 18 days apart!
Golf is a crazy game and trust me it is better to be lucky than good!
