I was playing with my father and brother in law at the club they’ve belonged to for years and where I’m on the waiting list to become a member. Hole #3 is a tough 152 yard par 3 with OB tightly placed on the right just off the tee box. While waiting to hit our shots, my father in law excitedly mentioned (for the 1,000th time) that this is the hole he got his hole in one. I’ve lost dozens of balls on this hole through the years. Today, however, I stepped up to my tee shot with confidence and a 7 iron in hand. Made a good swing, the ball landed at 150, took a bounce and a half then spun right into the dead center of the cup. After our round ended I was informed that was the first ace of the year at the club and if I were a member I’d have won $900. No prizes for us plebs on the waiting list though. Regardless, what an exhilarating moment! So exhilarating in fact that I triple bogied the next hole... you gotta love this crazy game!
