They just get better

I am a retired golfer who has been playing golf for 62 years. I retired 12 years ago. I played competitively all through junior golf, high school, college, Navy golf and many amateur events throughout my life time. Never did I have a hole in one until I retired. I have many "almost" stories that I could write a twenty chapter book about all of them but don 't have enough space or time to share. Since I retired, I have had 4 hole in ones. The last occurring June 8, 2016. All of my aces have occurred on our retirement community golf courses which are quite a test for us old duffers. My last was the best. The hole was our 4th hole on our Heritage course. It is a 185 yard par 3, across water, to a slightly elivated green and into a breeze of about 10mph. The pin was on the front so it is hard to get the tee shot close from because of the elivation and false front. I hit a solid 3 hybrid and my buddies were hooting and hollering for the ball to go in the hole. Once the ball stopped we could still see it so we were hoping for a kick in birdie of which would have been a sure bet for a team skin in our 24 man golf group. My buddies reached the green before me and started hollering "it's in!' it's in! briskly walking to greet me once I reached the green. Sure enough, it was a leaner. Half in the hole and half stuck against the flag stick still visible. My partners were patient enough to let me do the pin jiggle and let the ball fall to the bottom of the cup. Another hole in on one of our toughest par 3's and all four of them have been with ProV1 golf balls. By the way, we did win a team skin and did a pretty good job of skinning the other groups in our our game of the day. Also, we have a hole in one kitty for everyone who has such a wonderful experience. Trouble is the person scoring the ace has to buy the drinks. With our team skins, plus winning the game of the day, plus the kitty, I did not have much left after having to pay the bill. At least, I did go home clearing $4.14. Thanks to Titleist for allowing me to share my story. Retirement life is so much fun!
