Yesterday I achieved my first Hole in 1 and it's taken me 17 years! I was playing in our Ladies Club Competition, the Middleton Trophy at Dunnerholme Golf Club in Cumbria UK. Dunnerholmes signature hole is a short blind par 3 shot of only 96 yards, up onto an elevated limestone outcrop in the Duddon Estauary. On the links course, the wind normally plays a big part in club selection but yesterday there was only a 'breeze',! I took my normal 7 Iron and fired the ball directly over the marker post, almost hitting it. My initial thoughts were that the shot was too big! Once we climbed up onto the top of 'The Rock' my ball was no where in sight, so still thinking it was big, I walked across the green to look for it! One of my playing partners shouted 'check the hole on your way past'. I just gave it a cursory look and was shocked that it was in the hole! Would loved to have seen it go in the hole but I'll 'take it'! So pleased!!
