I've had some close calls for hole in ones, but the closest was a 3rd shot after losing a ball on my first shot at the Farmington Country Club in Farmington, CT in the mid 90's. Hole in 3 ALMOST!!! Yesterday I was playing Rocky River Golf Club in Concord, NC and came to the par 3 10th and noticed that they lost all of their tee boxes. They had moved all the tees to the red tee box. A normal green / blue tee box would have been a 160 yard shot, but today it was a 95 yard chip shot. I grabbed my Vokey SM7 D grind 60 degree and took the easiest swing. It went straight up and looked good from the second it left my club. My titleist tour soft ball landed 5 feet from the cup in the front and rolled in perfectly to the cup!!! I know it wasn't a 160 yard shot, but mother nature helped me on this one ... hole in one is a hole in one!!! KGD
