TCC Ace I never saw.

I cut out of work early on a sunny but slow day. Went off as a single as the course hadn't ramped up for the evening leagues yet. I played the first two holes at +1 in record time, then turned the corner only to find that the ranger allowed a 5-some out in the group ahead of me. I was pissed! I waited on 3 tee while they finished up on the green, shooting the breeze with the kid that was out cutting the tee boxes. I thought I was going to have to wait for him to cut the box, but he idled down the mower and said "go ahead" The hole was playing 155 from the blues, back pin. I pulled a 7 iron out and stepped up and hit what I though was was going to be short. The green slopes from back to front, and I wasn't sure it would get all the way up the slope. The green was half in shadow at that time and as the ball landed on the front and began to roll up the hill, it went into the shadowed portion of the green and I really couldn't see it. The greens keeper kid on the box next to me said " I think it was close", at that second the five-some now on the next tee box, started screaming. I look over and they're pointing at the green. The kid next to me says, "I think it went in". Well, I put the 7 iron in the bag and almost ran down to the green. The 5-some guys were still excited, yelling congratulations. They watched me pull the ball and walk over to their tee. They let me play through, and I luckily roped it down the middle. On the walk to my ball, the reality sunk in to what I just did...I proceed to make bogey on the next 6 holes. It was worth it, though. A moment I'll never forget.
