sweet sweet redemption

So it was October 2014 and I was playing in my cities City Championship in Clovis, NM. On the first day of the tourney I step up to the eighth hole(plays from 140-170y) and hit a great 8 iron right at the hole. The ball lands dead in the cup, flies out, and ends up 50 feet off the green. My pure shot turned into a bogie. After a lip out on the very next hole, my pride, desire and motivation was gone! Ended up shooting 10 over for the tourney and placing like 20th out of 50.

Fast forward to April 3rd, 2015. My buds and I shot out to the course after work for a beer filled 18 at dusk, where we usually end up playing the last 2 holes in the dark. I'm going along nicely at one under through 7. When we get to #8 I tell my buds about my tease with destiny last year on this hole. They laugh and say it'll happen sooner or later.

I pull my 8 iron out. I laser the front edge at 142 yards and the pin is middle. Perfect smooth 8. Hit it dead nuts, lands a yard on, two hops, checks, swish! I heard the "tink" of the flag but couldn't exactly see it go in. Mad dash persued. No balls on the green. I peak in slowly. Pay dirt. My first Ace on the very hole that robbed me 6 months earlier.

We all agreed to slam a brewski.

Next hole, I was still shaking, duck hook. Made a 15 footer for bogie. HAHA Thats my story and I'm stickin to it!
