Ski's Hole in One

September 27, 2016, Wescott Plantation, Summerville SC Oak Forest Course #3 (par3) Titleist Pro V 1 Ball / Titlist AP1 717 / 147 yards / 7 Iron At 5:30 that afternoon a buddy of mine, Bill Hutchinson went out for a quick 9 holes before dark. Oaf Forest 3 is the 3rd hole on this 9. I already had pared both #1 and #2 for a good start. Really did not care mush since we were only playing 9 and it was a good change to practice on some things. 147 yards / Blue Flag, I pulled an 8 iron just to get on the green and try and putt for another par. I changed the club at the last minute to the 7 iron to just see of I could get there. Worst case, I am off the back of the green. I put a good swing on the ball and it went straight at the pin. After seeing the line toward the green, I usually pick-up my tee and walk back to the cart. I was thinking that the ball is on the green and that is good enough. As I am picking up my tee, my buddy Bill states that the ball went in the hole. The sun was going down and I said that it had to go off the back. As we walked up to the green, Bill went to the cup and just about fell down. See that was my 1st hole in one ever and it was his first one ever actually seeing one. I have been chasing that little white ball for over 27 years on many different courses. I have been close before and sometimes been close by myself. Glad I never got one then. As happy as I am getting my 1st hole in one, I am really glad it happened with a friend that loves the game as much as I do. Looking back, I can say that watching his reaction was just as enjoyable (if not more) than actually making the shot. FYI, My Pro V 1 balls are personalized with the number 69 and "Lovegod on the side. I mark my Pro V 1 with 3 dots forming Mickey Mouse.....
