Ryan (age 15) and his father Dale were playing in the LeBaron Hills CC (Lakeville, MA) Men's League on July 10, 2018, when Ryan hit an incredible shot on the 196 yard 13th hole for his first ace! Ryan had recently started playing the new Titleist Velocity and was hitting it much higher and farther than other balls he used, causing him to club down on many holes. After a nice birdie on the 12th hole he decided to use a 4 hybrid on the par-3 13th, even though it was 196 yards and he could never reach with that club before. His tee shot launched much higher than usual with the 4 hybrid and seemed to be going farther and straight at the hole. Halfway there his dad said "that looks awesome", and their playing partner Preston said "get in the hole" when it was still in the air. It hit the middle of the green and rolled toward the back pin, at which point Preston said "it just disappeared". We were in shock and gave Ryan high 5's even though he didn't really believe it. He still wasn't sure until he saw it in the hole and said "there it is", and showed it to his dad for the photo. Ryan's #77 Velocity was his favorite because it was his football jersey number, and now 77 is his lucky number as well.
