"I hate this hole"

Sunday August 13th 2017, I was playing Hodge Park golf course in Kansas City, Mo, my two playing partners and friends Aaron Lilleieon and Ron Miller came to the 3rd tee. A par 3 playing 149 yards uphill into the wind. I usually try my 8 iron from that distance but on this particular hole I'm usually short with a very long putt if I hit the green. So I grab my 6 iron with the wind in my face along with the uphill green and state to my friends " I hate this hole". I proceeded to take a nice smooth swing and the ball jumped out higher than average for my normal 6 iron trajectory but was well struck and heading in the pins direction. We watched the ball land and hop a few times after striking the green and looked to hop again as it rolled towards the hole. We couldn't see the ball on the green and I doubted I had hit it hard enough to roll off the back of the green. My friends started getting excited thinking it might have gone in on the roll. We got to the green and I couldn't find my ball so I had my buddy Ron check the hole. He covered his mouth with his hand and I ask if its in there? He nodded it was Oh Yeah!!! Then I rembered I had worn an old oil stained shirt to play in and as I left the house told my wife Kathy it was still good enough to golf in and no one would see it, little did I realize I'd have my picture taken in it for all to see! I love the way Pro V's land on the green. But I hadn't realized I'd grabbed an old Tour Distance 90 Titleist out of my pocket before teeing it up. A week earlier I'd given it to my Dad to hit a second shot with, he gave it back saying it had a slight slice mark on it. Well I'm glad he did, that ball took a couple hops and found a home with friends to witness. Dinner was on me !!! Thanks for making a great ball even the old ones!!! Regards Todd Ward
