It was a 311 yard par 4 and the group in front of us was playing real slow and still on the green. I had been good off the tee all day but I pureed this one and I could tell by the feel it was long. My partner was three strokes ahead of me and put his tee shot in the trees left. My drive was straight down the left side middle with a little fade to the right. I knew it was long but lost sight if it in the sky. We pulled up to the red tee boxes so the two 12 year old kids we were playing with could tee off when I saw the guys driving up the fairway to us. When the they got to tee one of them look very excited and asked who was the one of us who just hit into the green? I said I was sorry and that I did not think I could reach the green from that distance. He said no worries and that he had never seen a hole in one before let alone on a par 4. I got all flustered and was not sure I believed him so we went down to the green where his other buddies all wanted to shake my hand. One said the other guy was putting when he saw the ball land about 20 yards short of the green, bounce twice and start its roll. He told his buddy to back up and the ball (my pro v) rolled right past them to drop in the cup. He also thanked me for the line. The flag was not even in the hole at the time.
I've worked in the private country club business for 26 years and I here about people hitting hole in ones almost every week. I played in six groups where I have witnessed hole in ones. Even let a guy use my seven iron for his first hole in one. Presently I am the executive chef at Ellington Ridge Country in Ellington Ct.

I have been waiting 26 long years for this to happen. Every time I step up to tee off on a par three I ask myself if today is going to be the day. I never thought to ask myself this on a par four. My partner and I ended up in a tie but thanks to my Titleist PRO V, I walked away the winner today.
I've been playing PRO Vs almost exclusively for the last five years and will never use another ball other then a PRO V for the rest of my life.
