NEED A WITNESS

In my case, it was not my first hole in one, but the scenario is one as a younger player I had dreams about having a hole in one with no witness. On May 28, 2018 it was supposed to be a rainout in the morning, but the sun was cutting through the cloud cover at 7am so I headed to the course. We normally play a 5-some and are the dew sweepers, first ones off the tee. We play fast, normally 3 and a half hours but no one showed up that day as the forecast scared everyone else away, so it was going to be a fast one. I was the only car in the parking lot, so off I went. #4 is 175 yards when the pin is up front as it was that day. I noticed Mr. Brown having coffee just off the fourth tee. When I hit the shot it was pure and true, and I shouted over to him that it was going to be close. The ball hit perfectly 10 feet short of the pen, and I bent down to pick up the tee as I shouted back to him it might go in, and then we heard the "tink" of the pen and I thought well I'll be dang. I looked up and I could see the ball mark but no ball! It will never get old having a hole in one. But, it always helps to have a witness who likes to get up and have his morning coffee. I immediately remembered the commercial the USGA used to have with the young kid having most certainly made his first hole in one, but no one is around to see it. The kid slowly mopes up to the green to retrieve his prize knowing no one will believe him, and then the old greenskeeper pulls up in his cart and yells to the kid "nice shot." I still get tears in my eyes thinking about that one. Play enough par 3's and you too will have a good chance to get you very own! And, Always Trust Your Titleist!! I did.
