I was playing in the Teal Cup Open at Western Turnpike golf course in Guilderland NY, supporting ovarian cancer research. It was the 8th hole on the blue course and at 178 yards, slightly uphill, I chose a 5 iron. The shot was a little lower than I wanted but a great line. I encouraged my Pro-V 1 to "go a little." Two bounces, it disappears, and the man witnessing the hole throws his arms in the air! My first hole in one ever! First time I had even sniffed one! As I'm running around, hooting and hollering like a mad man, it dawned on me. Not only was it my first ever hole in one, it was on a car giveaway hole! The next hole, I teed up my Titleist Pro-V 1 again while still in a blur but my playing partner stepped in and said to put that ball away!! It will be displayed somehow and needless to say, never forgotten! I'm glad I have that chance and didn't lace it into the pond on my next swing, ha!
