My first hole in one. August 1, 2017

At 62 years of age and after playing for about 35 years, I had just about given up hope of ever having a hole in one. That all changed this morning on the 133 yard uphill par 3, #7 hole at Clarksburg Country Club. Playing with 3 of the regular gang this morning, I decided that since the tees were back a bit, to forgo the usual 7-iron for a 6 and it proved to be a great choice. That Titleist ball and an AP-1, 6-iron, were a perfect combination. Since it is straight uphill and plays between 150 - 160 yards, you can't see the balls on the green until you get to the green. Was a little disappointed to not see my ball on the green. Figured I had rolled through the green into the rough behind the green. One of my partners walked to the hole and looked in and then looked at me and I knew. Very exciting! Managed to shoot 79 despite back to back triple bogies after the ace! Great day!
