My Dad Gets One

So it was a great day. It had been raining so often during the last couple weeks we had to cancel our outing. Today was every golfer's dream - sunny, clear, expected high around 74 and a light breeze. This hardly ever happens in the Maryland area where we golf and, as expected, the course was crowded. Our threesome consisted of my dad, his long term neighbor and me. We usually shoot in the high 80's to mid 90's, but we always have an enjoyable time on the course. My Dad struggled to straighten his drive on the front nine, ending the first nine with a respectable 45. Starting the back nine, there was nothing notable until we came to number 13. The 13th hole at the Montgomery County Run Course in Poolesville is fairly straight with a clear approach. From the tee, it drops and then rises with sand traps on the left. My Dad teed off first. We saw the first bounce 10-15 yards short but directly in line with the pin. The ball hopped a couple of times, then headed straight to the flag, rolling about 15 feet and disappearing into the hole. We were shocked, my Dad wasn't sure that it had gone in, and those of us who saw it were ecstatic.
