My 4th With My Son Tom

At the Kalamazoo Country Club Red Blazer (biggest tournament of the year) with my son, Tom. No. 15, a Thomas Bendelow Par 3, crisp hit with my H-5, light fade into the green, 165 yds., and then Tom says, "Dad, that disappeared quickly- I think it went in." And it did! Now, on that day, there was a prize on about every hole (a Lamborgini on No. 9!), but NONE on #15! Not even a pair of socks or a bag of tees! At the banquet, the Committee announced that I deserved a car, too-- and gave me a Matchbox Truck! No problem, because, at my first Hole in One (1993, same KCC Red Blazer, #9), I DID win a car (Ford Probe GT). Also another HIO on the 4th of July 2003 at KCC #12, and my 3d at the 2005 USGA Senior Amateur Championship in Dalton, Georgia (in a warm-up round as a USGA Rules Official). And all four with Titleists! As Toby Keith says, "I may not be as good as I once was, but I am good once as I ever was!" I am lifetime over-quota on Holes-in-One (and cars), all because of Titleist! (And the best part of all, the 4th happened with my son, Tom.) Hit 'em long and straight!
