On the 2nd of July 2016 after 30 years of playing golf I scored my 1st hole-in-one. A peaceful day at Goswick Golf Club saw me pull out my 8 iron, for the 150yrd par 3 15th hole. Little wind say my ball sail high and right on line for the flag, two hops and it disappeared into the cup. I couldn't quiet believe it, the closer I got to the green the more I thought it would be sitting beside the hole and that it had jumped out, but no. I walked up, bent over, placed my fingers on either side of the ball and lifted it out, kissed it and placed it in my bag. Never to be used again.
