Malden D Smith

My story brings me much pleasure. A group of 5, including myself, were playing the 4th hole at the Fort Sill Golf Course. There was a little wind in our face and the hole was sitting slightly down hill. I tee'd the ball low to the ground, eyed the target, aligned my body position, and took a practice swing. I adjusted my feet shoulder width apart, took a deep breath, softened my overlapping grip and focused on the back of the ball. I took a strong in/to out swing in order to slightly draw the ball into the wind and happily hit the ball in the center of the face of my Titleist forged AP2 (712) 5 iron. I watched the ball as it soared in the air and hit on the green approximately a yard short of the hole and about a half foot to the right. I was really happy to just hit the green and get inside another player but noticed that the ball had disappeared. There seemed to be a quietness around the tee box for a few seconds and then a soft sound came flooding into my eardrums, "It went in, it went in, Smit it went in, a Ace, well I'll be." Then I erupted in joy!
