I was shooting a steady round on a wonderful Minnesota summer day with a close friend. #15 at St. Croix National in Somerset WI was playing 116 yards downhill from the whites and I grabbed my 9 iron and Titleist Pro V1 ball. 2 course grounds crew arrived at the tee box and witnessed my shot. After the ball stopped , another groundskeeper walked out from the right side of the green pumping his arms. I gave him a thumbs up and he returned the same. Confused because my partner and I saw a white spot at the pin, we got to the green to see the ball had been held against the pin and dropped as we got off the cart.
