Jerry's Hole-in-One

Jerry’s Hole-in-One It was the most beautiful November 16th that there ever was…64 degrees and mostly sunny. As we approached the 17th hole at Iron Horse Golf Club, the sun went behind a small cloud. Hole 17 was playing 167 yards that day, so I pulled my Adams tight lie 5 iron. A nice rhythmic stroke and the ball arced high slightly left of the hole, but the light wind pushed it just a tad to the right. The ball bounced and disappeared. One of my buddies thought it was way short, but I knew it wasn’t. My right eye has cataracts, so I didn’t actually see the ball go in the hole. We approached the green and noticed a ball mark about two feet in front of the pin, but still didn’t see the ball. I started looking around the edges of the green when my buddy, Rusty Newman looked in the hole and said, “Hey, Jer, look at this!.” And with that he yanked the pin and the ball popped out of the hole. After a minute of two of hooting and hollering, I knew I was buying the beer after #18. The golf ball was a Titleist NXT Tour.
