It went in

I started taking golf lessons exactly five years ago with Frederick County, MD Parks and Recreations, prior to my retirement in 2010. About a month and a half ago, I joined the seniors league at Burke Lake Golf Center and have been playing with friends about every Tuesday since. It was hot and humid on Tuesday morning on the 25th. We were four playing this 18 hole par three course. I was first to tee off the 18th. It felt good when I hit the ball. The ball raised high and went straight for the hole, bounced once and went out of sight. I thought it rolled to the back of the green but then someone near the 10th tee yelled, 'it went in!!.' My friends and I could not believe. None had seen a hole-in-one live before. It was hard to believe. The others took their shots and we all headed for the green. As we got closer, only three balls were visible. Anticipation started to creep, it was nerve wrecking. My friends got ahead of me and got to the hole before me. Turned around and started laughing and yelling in joy. Sure enough, the ball had hit the green about one and a half feet before the hole and bounced about ten degrees right into the hole. It was true, it went in, and now I can get rid of this stupid smile off my face.
