It Was A Friday Evening...

It was a dark and stormy night....just kidding, but what a Friday it was. My buddy and I decided to sneak out of work early to get a quick 18 in. We hustled over to Palm Aire Country Club - The Cypress Course in Fort Lauderdale, changed in the parking lot, grabbed a few beverages, and were off. Came up to hole #4, par 3 marked at 215 yards with a front pin location. Very tight hole with hooded tree cover on the left, right and back. Wind was straight in our face, adding an extra 8-10 yards. My buddy Joe hit first and went long on the back right edge. I took out my 3 hybrid, which I usually hit a baby draw on and decided to aim right at the pin with the wind. Set up and hit it pure. It went dead straight and landed on the front edge, right on line with the pin, one hop and disappeared. Joe and I looked at each other with some excitement but then just assumed it rolled long off the left edge. We got in the cart, cheers each other to the long day and started to drive to the green. However, that shot looked to good to me so I started to record a video on my phone just in case the unbelievable happened. Best video I have ever taken. As we drive closer, you can hear the excitement in our voices growing because we still can't see the ball. I just remember Joe saying, "it's either long or in" over and over. We parked and I ran up to the green, did a quick scan but still nothing and that's when my heart dropped. I run to the hole, only to find my Titleist NXT Tour at the bottom of the cup! Still can't believe it, there is no better feeling if you love the game as much as I do. Thank you Titleist!
