Hole in one with witnesses

The guys In my foursome (the witnesses) was a subgroup of our Tuesday 18 hole league. My cart partner is a recent retired marine colonel, the other cart had a retired police detective and a retired master electrician. Also, the colonel was second half winner in the Tuesday league, I was second half runner and the cop was over all league winner. I was lead off on 12 with a par carryover from ten and another on 11. When walking onto the green there was only 3 balls on the green. I walked to the ball behind the flag, because I knew the other two were wide left. The ball I looked at wasn't mine, so I began to walk to the front of the green thinking I was short of the green. The cop asked who was playing a Titleist 2, I replied I was. He said it was in the hole. I thought he was kidding until he pulled it out and tossed it to me. I have been very close several times, and have witnessed others, but this was my first. I texted my brother-in-laws, grandson, sons and golfing friends, who all congratulated me. I am now a member of a very exclusive family club, grandson and two brother-in-laws. It's great! I also won the money we put in for a closest to the pin bet. That helped offset the club house rounds of drinks.
