Hole in one on Dads favorite hole

On June 23 rd after shooting a horrible 84 I decided to see if I could be first out at Lahontan golf club, play a round by myself and see if I could fix my driver. Low and behold Sarah and Kelsey Ferris had the first tee time . I rode back to our home in my cart and picked up my wife so she could ride along and enjoy a beautiful Sierra morning in Truckee, California . On June 22nd we got word susanne , my wife , favorite aunt nancy died . On march 7th this year my father who taught me the game and coached my high school team to a Northern California championship died. We talked about how both dad and nancy loved the beauty of the outdoors in their own way for the front nine. My prov1x didn't know that I was focusing on what was important . My family . My game fixed itself for some reason....
I turned the front side in 37 and fixed my driving woes and was hitting my irons well . I took my wife home and rode back to the tenth tee
I thought of dad and how we enjoyed how special Lahontan golf club is , I missed our mornings we shared together chasing a titleist for 40 years. I missed the life's lessons I learned with dad on the course

As I approached the 11th tee I remembered that it was dads favorite hole and how he bragged that he owned it . I was called up by the ferris' and grabbed my 7 iron, flushed it straight at the flag, I gasped . I said go in go in go in. It checked about 8 ft short and rolled gently into the cup. I erupted as the ferris looked on.

My dad died on march 7th , my coach, my father , my employer, my pigeon, my hero. Dad had 2 holes in one . Gary was a lifetime 15 handicap and loved to remind me that I may shoot in the 70's but he has 2 hole in ones. I mentioned this story at his eulogy.

I not only made a my first hole in one , it was on dads favorite hole .

Dad was with me and he is proud
